Palace school director apprehended for allegedly defiling six P.7 girls

In a recent development, the Director of Kings Palace School Jonah Ssebamanya has been taken into custody on charges of allegedly defiling six girls in Primary Seven (P.7).

The accused individual, who holds a prominent position at the school as well as at Katuugo health center 2 in Luwero sub county was apprehended by law enforcement authorities based on allegations of sexual assault as well as impregnating and procuring an abortion for one of the P.7 students.

Authorities have taken swift action to ensure justice is served and to protect other potential victims.

According to Sam Twiineamazima the Savannah regional police said that Mr Jonah Ssebamanya was arrested after police got complaints that between October and September this year he had defiled six students aged between 13 and 17 years all in primary Seven .

Such incidents deserve our utmost attention and immediate action to safeguard the well-being and rights of the victims.

However Ssebamanya denies defiling the students insisting that the allegations are motivated by his business rivals.

Meanwhile authorities are working diligently to investigate the allegations thoroughly. These allegations raise serious concerns about the safety and protection of students within an educational institution as schools play a crucial role in nurturing and safeguarding the welfare of their pupils.

Luwero district is currently battling an increase in cases of defilement both in schools and communities and according to police crime report a total of 166 cases of defilement were reported to police in 2022 of which 68 cases were classified as aggravated and the district ranked in the second position with the highest number of cases.

The arrest of the Kings Palace School Director serves as a reminder of the importance of vigilant supervision and rigorous background checks when it comes to individuals in positions of authority within schools.

Safeguarding policies and procedures should be in place to ensure the safety and well-being of students at all times.

The case will now proceed through the legal system, where the accused will have the opportunity to present their defense while ensuring a fair trial for both parties involved.
