Vipers SC faces challenge in Stanbic Uganda cup round of 16 clash

Vipers SC will be missing key players Allan Okello, Rogers Torach, and Karim Watambala as they prepare to battle a Fufa Big League team in the Stanbic Uganda Cup round of 16.

The trio is currently representing the Uganda Cranes in Egypt for a crucial 2026 Fifa World Cup qualifier against Mozambique.

Despite the absence of the national team players, Vipers SC, eyeing another league and cup double, possesses a strong lineup to take on their opponents.

With skilled replacements such as Livingstone Mulondo, Kenneth Kimera, Pedro Sukuya, and young talent Bugembe ready to step up, the team is well-equipped for the challenge. Additionally, the experience of Yunus Sentamu and Moses Waiswa adds depth to their attacking and creative options.

Second-placed Big League team, Blacks Power, will be missing key player Innocent Maduka for their showdown with Vipers SC.

However, coach Bob Obira remains optimistic about their chances of causing an upset on Vipers’ home turf.

Meanwhile, other matches in the round of 16 feature UPDF and URA facing off against Kaaro Karungi and Kataka respectively, as they aim to advance to the quarter-finals alongside other top-tier teams.
