Muhammuddu Iddi Zingo 62 commonly known as Taata Medi was on yesterday arraigned before Kampala City Hall Court on four charges of aggravated defilement.
He appeared before grade one Magistrate Jane Tibagizenka who didn’t allow him to plead to the charges.
“ This court has no jurisdiction to hear this matter being capital in nature,” Ms Tibagizenka said.
Prosecution states that between March 2020 and March 2022 in Namuli Zone Bukoto Mr Iddi Zingo unlawfully performed defilement with the three girls aged two, six and nine years respectively well knowing he had HIV.
In addition of a separate file , the prosecution also alleged that on March 25, 2023 he unlawfully performed sexual acts with a three year old girl.
Upon conviction Zingo faces life in prison or death penalty.
The mother of the three year old girl who spoke to our media on condition of anonymity told us that she had noticed changes in her child’s movement there by reporting the matter to police.

“ my mother shares a compound with the suspect who is her brother,”she said.
She further claims that on the fateful day the suspect lured her into his house promising to give her more dates than defiling her.
In addition the mother also noticed that her three year old daughter was put on post exposure prophylaxis for six months while other victims didn’t get the chance to be taken to hospital early since they decided to keep quite.
One of the accused son when interviewed told our media that his father was being used due to family land wrangles.
He further told our media that the piece of land on which their family house stands had been given to them by their grandfather who had cautioned them never to sell it.
“ At the time of dividing among themselves, my father wasn’t around and when he come back he found part of his land being used as the family’s burial grounds and they didn’t want him to use the remaining vacant part,”he said.
