In a recent incident, law enforcement authorities in Mbarara city Central have arrested a man identified as Tumushabe Nelson on charges of sexual assault after he allegedly engaged in sodomizing a 22 year old male student.
It’s alleged that the suspect took advantage of the victim on the pretext of getting him a job on the night of October 10,2023.
According to Rwizi police statement, the victim on the eve of 09th October,2023 at around 7:00pm the victim was in search of a job around Mbarara City when he met the suspect Tumushabe.
The suspect stopped him and acted as if he was conversant with the victim . He thereafter asked the victim what was doing In Mbarara city. The victim replied to him that he was looking for a job which the suspect promised to give to him .
Meanwhile Tumushabe took the victim to his home and at around 1:00 am the suspect turned against the victim threatened him and sodomised the victim.
In the morning Tumushabe took the victim for a breakfast meal and later on proceeded to Mabarara Central market where he works and it’s at this stage that he informed the victim that since he didn’t have the national identity card it was going to be hard to get hired.
In response the victim went and reported the matter to police thereby arresting the Tumushabe and was later on apprehended with a substantial quantity of contraceptive items, indicating potential premeditation and a concerning pattern of behavior.
The suspect was discovered to be in possession of a significant number of condoms and lubricants, suggesting a potentially premeditated act and raising concerns about his actions.
