Jinja teacher nabbed over Lesbianism
Police have this morning stormed and arrested a female teacher Lydia Mukoda at PMM Girls School in Jinja City on allegations of promoting homosexuality.
Information coming in to this media indicates that the teacher is being questioned as part of their investigation.
This was after her alleged partner stormed the police and reported Mukoda for neglecting her while engaging in recruiting school girls into the vice.
Kiira reginal police spokesperson James Mubi when contacted, told our media that the suspect is under custody and will be charged.
Her arrest had earlier on sparked off protests by parents and members of the old girls student association who had earlier on Friday stormed the school over the teachers alleged homosexual activities and the school reluctance to handle the matter conclusively.
The angry parents who had been blocked from entering the school had demanded to take their children after several social media reports accused the teacher of spoiling their daughters.
The chairperson of the old girls school association Ms Kalembe Rose told our media they were in discussion with other members to have the teacher suspended for tarnishing the image of the school.
“I was here in the 1990’s and I have never heard of lesbian issue in this school . The suspected teacher was also a student in this school and as old girls ,we have to do something,”she said.
However when we contacted the school administration, the school declined to comment on the matter .
The Jinja City Education Officer Mr Haruna Mulopa said they left the issue to police to handle.
“ We can’t decide because we aren’t judges or lawyers .since there are still allegations we can’t give any comments,”he said.
